FDUSD is designed to maintain a 1:1 value with USD. It is minted and redeemed against USD by eligible, KYC-approved institutional account holders and is used as a trading, settlement, payment and DeFi liquidity asset. Reserves are stated to comprise cash and high-quality liquid cash equivalents and are subject to monthly third-party attestation. Target users are institutional market participants and secondary-market users, subject to venue and jurisdiction restrictions.
